Dan and Diane’s Proposal at the Basilica!
Best regards, Dan
Best regards, Dan
We just finished this yummy ring for a local client of ours. It’s new to the line, exclusive to us, and not on the site yet. If anyone wants to ooohhh and ahhhhh over it, give us a call and we’ll ooohhhh and ahhhhh with you!
We’ve shown it with a couple of matching wedding bands. Seems that having multiple wedding bands is all the rage right now. Also, multiple wedding bands make great anniversary and occasion presents!
As usual, you can have this ring made with any stone, metal and combination you prefer! Better photos forthcoming.
1. Realize the importance: Moms consider jewelry from a son or daughter to be a prized possession – something to be cherished for a lifetime. Take your time in making this purchase. Check your local jewelers and research jewelry online. Ask other family members for input by sending relevant links, images, etc. And don’t wait until a week before her birthday!
2. Recognize her style: Jewelry is not one size fits all! If your mother has hundreds of earrings, you might want to consider an engraved necklace or ring. Are her tastes classic or edgy? Is she a practical or romantic sort? (If practical, an oversized piece of jewelry might not be the way to go, for instance.) Look at her wardrobe. Is she a flashy or conservative type? What colors does she lean toward?
3. Go ask your mother! There are ways to find out about your mother’s tastes without giving away the secret. Ask about a ring she’s wearing and why she likes it. Take a look through her jewelry box (discreetly, of course!) Again, ask other family members. In short, go to the source.
Giving the gift of jewelry to your mother is a big deal, simply because it’s from you. Why not make it really special by taking some time to research, asking around and picking just the right piece?
Joe,
I could never thank you enough for all your hard work and patients throughout this process. Your customer services is exceptional and I will definitely be recommending you to others. I will also be waiting to find a new wedding set. The ring is gorgeous and I can’t believe how nice the color of the Alexandrite is. I am ready to proceed with the final steps and cannot wait to try it on!

Here’s a custom jewelry project with a long history. Christine and I have been friends since grade school. We attended Tavan Elementary, Ingleside Middle and Arcadia High schools together. Christine’s parents were customers of my father’s and for Christine’s high school graduation, her parents had a gold and diamond initial pendant made. Now, a “few” years later it’s Christine’s daughter Catherine who is graduating.
So Christine contacted me several weeks before the big day to talk about carrying on the tradition. Her idea was to do something a little more updated; have the piece made in white gold rather than yellow gold and to update the type style somewhat. In addition, she wanted to make it even more personal and special by incorporating diamonds from her collection along with diamonds from her sister, Daphne’s collection (Daphne also received a diamond initial for her high school graduation). The results are below. Click on the images to see larger versions.
Thanks again for all your help. Some of my friends have been asking why I
went with a jeweler from across the country; it’s because when i started
calling and emailing around about the tension-set rings, you were by far the
most helpful, friendly, and responsive. In the end, it didn’t matter that I
wanted to go with something completely different; I was already sold.

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. ~Honoré de Balzac
Jewelry is a gift that is extremely “mom friendly.” It send an extra special message to the mother in your life – one that shows you care enough to think out of the “flowers and candy” mindset.
Many people (men in particular – sorry guys!) shy away from buying jewelry because they don’t want to buy something that Mom might not like.
To make life easier, here are a few tried and true pieces of jewelry – ones we know moms like because we sell to them!
