  • Celebrities, Jewelry and Wow Close-up Photos

I stumbled this website this morning over coffee. What I liked about 10x is that it gives you the opportunity to see some close-ups of celebrity jewelry. It’s almost like you can reach through your screen and touch the piece. Have a look:

Beyonce (below) sparkled in a platinum, diamond and ruby Lorraine Schwartz necklace and matching earrings while she performed during the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks show in New York.

  • Elizabeth Edwards – Her Fashion, Her Beauty

As most of you know by now, Elizabeth Edwards passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Elizabeth Edwards 61, wife of John Edwards, the former presidential candidate, was also a best selling author, attorney and a health care advocate. She is the mother of Cate, Jack and Emma Claire.

A few photos of the quiet, sophisticated beauty of Ms. Edwards:

The simple elegance of Elizabeth Edwards

In July 2004, Elizabeth Edwards and her daughter Cate take the stage during the Democratic National Convention in Boston.

Knowing her final hours were imminent, Elizabeth Edwards posted this reflection on her Facebook page:

“You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces — my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that. And yes, there are certainly times when we aren’t able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It’s called being human. But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful. It isn’t possible to put into words the love and gratitude I feel towards everyone who has and continues to support and inspire me every day. To you I simply say: you know.”

  • Princess Di’s Jewelry

With Prince Williams to soon marry, we decided to take a stroll down memory lane and gaze at some of the beautiful jewelry his mother adorned:

    Spencer Tiara

Princess Diana Attending a State Reception Princess Diana wears a suite of sapphire and diamond jewels presented by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and the Spencer family tiara.

Diamond Teardrop Earrings and Pearl Choker

    Gold "D" necklace

This ring has a large oval sapphire surrounded by 14 round diamonds set in 18K white gold. The oval sapphire is NOT 18 carats in size as reported after Kate Middleton received this ring. It is set in 18K white gold which has been misinterpreted as an 18 carat oval sapphire.

  • More Celebrity Jewelry Lines

It’s required now, I’ve heard: Once you become a well-known celebrity, you simply must produce your own jewelry or clothing line…or at least a cheap perfume. If not, you’re ex-communicated from Hollywood and forced to co-habitate with the rest of the plebians. Kathy Ireland would not suffer this fate, so she too has created her own jewelry line.

Supermodel-turned-uber-entrepreneur, Kathy Ireland, has partnered with (Jewelry.com retail partner) Fred Meyer Jewelers to offer her line of bridal, fashion diamond and gemstone jewelry – the “kathy ireland Jewelry Collection”.Produced by Kathy Ireland Worldwide and Nikhil and Ela Jhaveri of Elan Luxury Collection, the line includes fine jewelry ranging from $195 to $3995 in a variety of consumer-friendly styles.

Though the collection is also available via KathyIrelandJewelry.com and through regional retailers such as Harry Ritchie’s Jewelry and Morgan Jewelers, Fred Meyer Jewelers says that it is the first retail jeweler with stores nationwide to carry the collection.

The retailer, which operates under the banners of Fred Meyer Jewelers, Littman Jewelers and Barclay Jewelers, will offer the “kathy ireland Jewelry Collection” at nearly 400 Fred Meyer Jewelers and Littman Jewelers stores in 36 states, as well as online at FredMeyerJewelers.com and LittmanJewelers.com.

With a glut of celebrity jewelry lines flooding the market – from Real Housewives to reality stars – Ms. Ireland’s established brand identity in housewares and clothing will certainly serve her well when it comes to establishing her line in the jewelry world.

  • The Sex And The City 2 Black Diamond Ring

    Source: Luxist.com

Will you look at this ring? It’s a stunner, for sure. High degree of craftsmanship and just plain artistry. It plays a starring role in the upcoming film Sex and the City 2. Let’s hope the ring doesn’t outshine the lead actors – a very distinct possibility!

The five-carat stone by designer Itay Malkin is set in 18 karat white gold with 80 round natural white pave diamonds equaling 0.35 carats. Malkin worked in collaboration with Sarah Jessica Parker and costume designer Patricia Field on the final design of the ring.

The Itay Malkin ring is the only piece of jewelry from the movie that has been held to secrecy due to its importance in the plot, debuting for the first time on the big screen. Itay Malkin will produce the ring in a limited edition series for $10,000, each ring stamped with the limited edition serial number and certificate.

Guess what? You don’t have to be Sarah Jessica Parker to wear a ring of this amazing quality. If a $10,000 ring isn’t quite in your budget, we can create a beautiful replica of this ring for a fraction of the cost, down to the black diamond.

  • Jewelry Thief of the Celebrities Busted!

What do these A-list celebrities have in common? No, it’s not their wealth, good looks or propensity to be at the right place at the right  time (or in Lindsay’s case, the wrong time!) They’ve all been burgled by the same ring of thieves!

The Los Angeles police told E! News that they have shut down the sneaky operation that allegedly targeted several young Hollywood stars.

Paris Hilton was the first victim to reach the public’s attention, with a hit that took place back in December of last year, resulting in the loss of nearly $2 million in jewelry. Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Patridge, Orlando Bloom and Rachel Bilson are among the other celebs thought to be targeted by the group.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department says that 19-year-old Diana Tamayo, 18-year-old Alexis Neiers, 18-year-old Courtney Ames and a man named Roy Lopez were taken into custody last Thursday as part of a sting operation. The suspects were all classmates at the L.A.-area Indian Hills High School with Nicholas Prugo, the 18-year-old collared last month and charged with two counts of felony burglary related to thefts at Lohan and Patridge’s places.

Another woman, 19-year-old Rachel J. Lee was arrested in Clark County, Nevada on charges of possession of stolen property and voluntarily surrendered in the Lohan/Patridge case.

E! News reports that Lee had an obsession with young celebrities and was the mastermind behind the crime spree, planning the hits using info gleaned from Hollywood star maps and public-appearance schedules.

  • Trump Tosses his Two Cents into a New Jewelry Line

That’s right. Donald Trump has decided that enough celebrities have hit it big with a misplaced jewelry line…why shouldn’t he?

According to the The Donald himself:

“People aspire to connect with my lifestyle. A collection of fine jewelry is a natural step for my brand. This collection is aspirational, elegant, and completes the dressed for success look.”

And let it not be said that he’s not really put poured himself into this line…literally. Several pieces of the jewelry are embossed with his name and his image. Sheesh. Highlights include a 14-karat gold ring and sterling silver cuff link boasting the Trump crest and a likeness of Donald Trump’s image.

Though all kidding aside, the target market is men who seek branded jewelry: a niche Trump hopes to fill. So only time will tell whether jewelry sales will reach the proportion of the ego.
