The price of platinum jewelry is falling and, actually, the metal is currently less than 1/2 price. Back in February of this year we sent a newsletter featuring the cost benefits of using alternative metals due to platinum’s high price.

Well, the price of platinum has now dropped from over $2200/oz earlier in the year to under $900/oz as of today. Back in February, we sent out an email showcasing a custom made trillion and black diamond wedding set (shown here in right hand image).

We just finished the matching gents band. For his band we replaced the larger, single trillion shape diamond and smaller white pave set diamonds for three identical trillion shape natural diamonds. Both have pave set black side diamonds.

In addition, we added a squared off shank to add a little more design and to help keep the ring facing upright. Giving this ring a square shank along with making it in platinum assured a very hefty piece of fine jewelry!

We just finished two more Stunning pieces for the Custom Jewelry Contest and did we have fun with these! We may have a first with Candy’s triangle shape anniversary band. I know this is the first time we have made an anniversary band using triangle shaped stones, and a Google search did not turn up anything like this anywhere else that I could find. So, Candy, you just might have a one of a kind piece here!

The My Three Son’s piece was also a lot of fun and a perfect example of combining different elements and ideas to make something completely unique and special. We took the idea of a three stone ring (one for each son), added small diamond accents around each one, added baguette and round diamonds from the original engagement ring down each side, applied hand filigree accents and hand engraving for a little more bling then topped it off with a matching wedding band. We just added these four hot new tungsten carbide wedding band styles. The first band has a faceted ‘pyramid’ shaped center with a black rhodium finish. The second band has a black carbon fiber center. The third and fourth bands have natural round diamonds and black rhodium finish sides. All four are comfort fit. We just posted two new pieces for the Custom Jewelry Contest. We think these two pieces are a lot of fun. The first is a natural aquamarine set with two natural pink sapphires and two round moissanite stones on the sides. The setting has a squared off shank at the bottom to keep the ring upright and is made from palladium, a platinum alternative. The second contest piece is a diamond wedding band inspired by a famous actor/designer. This white gold wedding band has 5 small diamonds set into each side. Very cool and very unusual.

We just posted two more custom entries to the gallery page. The Arlington moissanite anniversary band is a variation of the classic 5 stone version. Stephanie Kellen’s moissanite pendant is simple and elegant, inspired by a leading jewelry designer.

Handmade Comfort Fit Wedding Bands With A Princess Cut Moissanite Or Natural Diamond

We just added these handmade,
heavy, comfort fit wedding bands with either a .16ct flush set princess
cut moissanite (diamond equivalent) or natural diamond. The rings measure 7mm wide and are available in all 14kt white
gold or two tone 14kt rose and white gold.

The two tone version is definitely unique, you don’t see too many rose gold wedding bands. Both options feature high polish sides with a brushed finish center to enhance the contrast of the metals and to bring out the brilliance of the diamond or moissanite.
